Photography
We do what we promise, for the cost agreed, deliver the best work possible, and do it on time.
Natural light
Anna prefers her photographs to project the atmosphere of the event she is photographing therefore she avoids using flash whenever possible and uses whatever light is naturally available instead.
Rehearsals
Wherever possible we like to attend a rehearsal so as to recognize and be prepared to capture the important parts of the performance. We also check the lighting to determine if flash will be needed. We avoid flash as much as possible especially during concerts or plays.
Equipment
Anna exclusively uses Canon photographic equipment.
Research
When taking on a project that involves a performer Anna always researches them in advance:
- finding out as much as she can about their professional career in order to make them feel at ease when talking with her.
- listening to CDs and watching DVDs (preferably live recordings) to know the type of music the performer specializes in, where they may include the audience or specific poses they strike which will enable her to capture them at their best (she also gains a feel for lighting that may be used and how their band/back-up singers/dancers work on stage).
- if photographing actors she watches as much of their previous work available on DVD as possible and studies other professional shots to see what poses they prefer and note any features that they may wish ‘hidden’.
Confidentiality
We strongly believe in our client’s right to privacy at all times and are happy to sign a confidentiality agreement with them if they should wish. If the client is a celebrity then Anna will personally be in direct contact with them to keep the situation controlled and the client comfortable. Should an assistant photographer be required then they will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement before starting work.
Discretion at all times
There is nothing worse than trying to concentrate during a rehearsal or attending a performance and spending the time noticing the photographer hopping around. As a result we try to be as discrete as possible unless our work requires something different in which case the client will be informed in advance.
